Dr. Randy Wiltshire - Veterinarian

${name}

Dr. Randy Wiltshire grew up with two younger sisters in the small town of Lorena, Texas, where his parents still reside.

Dr. Wiltshire was married in March of 2007, and he and his wife Nancy reside in the Fulshear area. They have two children, Jacob (10) and Hannah (7), a 2018 model mutt named Murphy, and a 2016 model Terrier Mix named Rocky.

Dr. Wiltshire knew at a very young age that he wanted to be a veterinarian. He was always interested in science while growing up, and at any given time there was some combination of dogs, cats, rabbits, ducks, or hamsters at the Wiltshire household… so veterinary medicine was an easy choice. He was inspired by his uncle, who is a veterinarian, and his high school FFA teacher, Mr. Woody, who guided him in the right direction to reach his career goals. "I couldn't imagine doing anything else," says Dr. Wiltshire. "I get to come to work every day and help animals and people, just like I've wanted to do since I was 12 years old."

Dr. Wiltshire received his Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Science in 1998 from Texas A&M University in College Station. He then went on to receive his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine in 2002 and received his Texas Veterinary License shortly thereafter.

After graduation, Dr. Wiltshire was hired by Dr. Greg Matt at Mt. Houston Animal Clinic, where he worked as an associate veterinarian for over five years. Dr. Matt was instrumental in showing Dr. Wiltshire "the ropes" and in helping him fulfill his dream of owning his own practice. It was extremely difficult for him to leave Mt. Houston Animal Clinic and all of the wonderful clients who became like family to him, but an amazing opportunity arose, and in 2007 Dr. Wiltshire purchased Lakeside Animal Clinic from Dr. Mike McCann. "Dr. McCann built this practice from the ground up, and he built up a large and very loyal clientele," said Dr. Wiltshire. "It is an honor to serve the clients he loved so much, and to carry on his tradition of great service and quality medicine."

Dr. Wiltshire enjoys every aspect of small animal veterinary medicine, but his particular areas of interest include surgery, internal medicine, and ultrasound. He regularly attends continuing education classes to enhance his knowledge and sharpen his skills in all areas of clinical practice. "Veterinary Medicine is a rapidly-changing science," he says. "You have to stay on the cutting edge or you are doing your patients and your clients a huge disservice. They deserve a veterinarian who knows the latest medical information and the most up-to-date treatments."

In his free time, Dr. Wiltshire enjoys playing and watching sports, particularly Aggie Football and Baseball, and Astros Baseball. He also enjoys drawing and painting, fishing, golf, and spending time with his extended family.
